About

I’m Holden Salomon, a software and systems engineer based in Atlanta. I build and ship open-source projects on my own, end to end: the design, the code and tests, the packaging and CI, the documentation, and the releases.

My recent work covers four areas:

  • Linux virtualization. Tendril is a Rust system that turns one multi-GPU machine into several gaming stations, each a VM with a real GPU passed through.
  • Computer vision. winnow uses ArcFace embeddings and clustering to choose training photos for face recognition.
  • Self-hosted infrastructure. I run my own storage, backups and services, and patched TrueNAS to back up to Backblaze B2.
  • Tooling for AI coding agents. A model broker, a permission guard, a fleet control plane and an incident ledger, all built to make coding agents cheaper and safer to run.

I also have agile project-management experience, which helps me connect deep technical work with clear communication to the people who depend on it.

Experience #

Software intern, motorsports hardware #

  • Built embedded data-acquisition hardware and software for motorsports.
  • Read tire-surface temperatures from an MLX90640 thermal-camera sensor on Arduino and broadcast them over a 500 kbps CAN bus.
  • Wrote a C and GTK desktop app that reads CAN through SocketCAN for high-speed logging and live graphing.
  • Integrated aftermarket sensors into custom and production vehicles under test deadlines.

Junior web developer #

  • Built and maintained websites for small businesses, scoping and delivering projects directly with clients.
